Luminous green spiky caterpillar - Euclea delphinii Series #12

This is the twelve post on photo of tropical caterpillar (likely a Euclea delphinii) . The subject is a luminous and spiky green caterpillar. Look like a party animal, huh.

This type of caterpillar will definitely cause skin allergies. The spikes are literally soaked with biochemical substance that can cause itchiness on your skin, when touched.

Black spiky caterpillar - Series #9

This is the 9th series on tropical caterpillar. It's a black caterpillar and it's spiky. It is one of the dullest caterpillar and my camera was have trouble focusing on it due to its dull color.

Rather, I was also having trouble focusing because my hands tremble and that's why I plucked the black caterpillar and placed it on the grass. Because of the caterpillar colour and also dimming light, at times, the camera was focusing on the grass blades instead of the caterpillar.

Uncropped photo, macro shot on black spiky caterpillar

The above photo is the best among the collection taken. Due to daylight fading, I have limited time to get a clear shot on the caterpillar.

Tropical Bug - Hemiptera - Heteroptera

Photo of an unidentified tropical Hemiptera bug, sub-order Heteroptera. I think it has a close resemblance to Spined Soldier Bug (a beneficial insect).

Brown patterned caterpillar - Series #8

This is the 8th series on tropical caterpillar. This time, it's about a brown patterned caterpillar. The brown caterpillar was hooked underside of a lime branch and at first glance, it look like a branch because it was brown and patterned. It also looks hideous but a perfect camouflage.

Baby Caterpillar - Series #7

This is the 7th series on tropical caterpillar and also it the first time I stumbled upon a gang of baby caterpillars (black caterpillar with red head). Usually, I spotted an adult caterpillar but that day, around 20 baby caterpillars were slowly munching a leave. See photos below:

Close up. That's the closest I can get because the object is too tiny, more closer that the object would be too blur or dark.

Bug with spiky legs - Series #2

This photo post is the second series on bug with spiky legs.

The photos here was much better as compare to the one in the first series. As for the bug, I only managed two shots. Two shots and it's gone, disappeared among the leaves.

Tropical yellowish caterpillar - Series #5

This is the fifth series on caterpillars, i.e tropical yellowish (or pale yellow) caterpillar. These caterpillars were found to have infested our Longan tree. At least 11 of those caterpillars were plucked from the Longan leaves and destroyed after the photo shoot.

This specimen of yellowish caterpillar with red head is roughly 2 inches long.

A photo of a bug with spiky legs. I was unable to take the photo from the top or side as the bug is extremely conscious of it surrounding. That's why I only manage to get shots of this bug from underneath.

Tropical green caterpillar - Series #2

This is the second series on caterpillar, i.e tropical green caterpillar. The black spot on the right looks like an eye but it's fake to trick predator. The fake eyes look intimidating to fend of predator and the caterpillar head is actually tiny.

Tropical big green leave cutter caterpillar

Tropical big green leave cutter caterpillar. I'm not sure which end of the caterpillar is the head or the tail. The end with the spike or horn might be the head and the spots at the tail is the fake eyes to trick predator.

Green tropical bugs mating

This post showcases two unidentified green bugs mating. Yet another privacy invasion by me. :)

The bugs in this scandal could be a family of grasshopper + stick insect + mosquito. I think it one of those fruit fly.
